Welcome to our rebranded site DysImmune Research Aotearoa, New Zealand (previously PRVA)

Thank you for visiting our website, here’s a little bit of background: We started this organisation in 2022 to spearhead biomedical research into post-acute infection syndromes, namely Long Covid and ME/CFS. This decision was spurred by firsthand experience of the neglect surrounding these illnesses, and the dire urgency for action (see our previous welcome note when we launched in 2002.

A lot has been underway since our first launch, including the concept to rebrand our group to DysImmune, to reflect the common theme of immune dysfunction associated with these chronic conditions. Given our research approach is to hone in on common features, we also want to ensure that our study participation approach is inclusionary and will aim to promote and advertise biomedical research studies underway in Aotearoa New Zealand. We aim to post updates as blogs, and further develop our site as a resource and hub to keep participants linked to available research opportunities. Thank you for joining us, Dr Anna Brooks (Principal Investigator and co-founder)
